TIGART STUDIOS
Local Texas Artisan
Where it started.
I truly discovered my artistic flow when I landed at Tiger’s Den, a martial arts dojo turned Crossfit gym, in the Design District. This vast warehouse soon became my creative haven and a space within a community that continuously encouraged me. Initially, I began sketching tigers in chalk each day, which eventually led to my designs gracing walls, boxes, kettlebells, shirts—essentially anything they desired a tiger illustration on. It was within this space that I was dubbed ‘Tiger Queen.’

One day, the owner surprised me by handing over a blow torch asking me to burn a tiger into the wooden panels on the wall. This unexpected task ignited my passion for wood burning, introducing me to a whole new artistic avenue that swiftly became an integral part of my diverse mixed-media creations.

My journey progressed as I pursued a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from UTD. However, after graduation, becoming entangled in work responsibilities and the daily grind caused my artistic pursuits to take a back seat for several years. This year, though, I made the decision to prioritize my passion for art and transitioned into a full-time artist, fully embracing this creative journey. The urge to create and work with my hands is an intrinsic aspect of my identity, one that I could no longer overlook. I’ve found a sense of tranquility by dedicating myself to my mission of contributing to the community through the realms of art and my inherent desire to create. First, I had to decide to create the life I wanted.

My ongoing projects have played a crucial role in establishing my artistic style and how I wish to narrate my story through my creations. What started as a love for wood burning and a curiosity for experimentation has now blossomed into my decision to expand my creative services and welcome laser engraving into my range of offerings that will be rolled out in the coming months. Knowing art and creativity will undoubtedly remain an integral part of my journey, I look forward to the opportunity to share my passion to create with others.
